Welcome to Sri Lanka! On arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by our representative and escorted to your private vehicle to begin your journey to Kandy. Nestled amidst lush hills, Kandy was the last royal capital of ancient Sri Lankan kings and is renowned for its scenic beauty and cultural significance. It is also recognized as one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the country. En route, visit the famous Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and a Spice Garden. At Pinnawala, witness dedicated caretakers nurturing orphaned, abandoned, and injured elephants, and enjoy the unforgettable experience of watching these gentle giants being fed, bathing, and playing in the river. Continue your journey to Kandy and check in to your hotel for an overnight stay.
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, proceed for a sightseeing tour of Kandy. Visit the renowned Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden, spread across 147 acres, which began in 1374 as a pleasure garden for the kings of Gampola and Kandy. The garden is home to over 4,000 species of trees, plants, and creepers, including rare and endemic flora from around the tropical world. Later, visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, which houses Lord Buddha’s revered tooth relic and is considered the most treasured possession of Sri Lanka, holding immense religious and cultural significance since the 4th century AD. In the evening, enjoy the vibrant Kandy Cultural Show, featuring traditional Sri Lankan dance, music, and colorful performances. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Kandy.
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed towards Bentota, a charming coastal resort town. En route, stop to admire the breathtaking St. Clair’s Falls, often called the “Little Niagara of Sri Lanka,” one of the country’s most picturesque waterfalls. Continue to witness the majestic Devon Falls, also known as the “Veil of the Valley,” cascading beautifully through the central highlands. Adventure lovers may opt to enjoy an exciting white-water rafting experience at Kitulgala on the Kelani River, offering rapids suitable for both beginners and experienced rafters. Upon arrival in Bentota, check in at your hotel and relax for the rest of the day. Overnight stay in Bentota.
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Kosgoda to visit the famous Turtle Hatchery, known for its sea turtle conservation project operated by the Wildlife Protection Society of Sri Lanka. Although October to April is the main nesting season, turtle eggs—mainly of green turtles—can be seen here throughout the year. The eggs are safely buried in sand, and after about 50 days the hatchlings are released into the sea at night, helping protect this endangered species, of which only one in a thousand survives to adulthood. Later, enjoy a scenic boat ride on the Madu River, offering a close view of rich biodiversity including monkeys, water monitor lizards, and birds such as cormorants, egrets, and kingfishers. The river and lagoon are dotted with around 64 islands, ranging from tiny islets with deserted shrines to larger islands home to local families connected by long footbridges. Return to the hotel for a relaxing evening and overnight stay in Bentota.
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, drive to Colombo and begin a guided city tour of Sri Lanka’s vibrant commercial capital. Pass through the bustling business districts and the elegant, tree-lined residential area of Cinnamon Gardens. Visit Fort, the former British administrative center and military garrison, and explore Sea Street, the famous goldsmiths’ quarter in the heart of Pettah. Continue through the lively Bazaar area, home to a Hindu temple adorned with intricate stone carvings, and visit the historic Dutch Church of Wolfendhal dating back to 1749. Also see the BMICH, the impressive replica of the Avukana Buddha, and the Independence Square. Enjoy shopping at ODEL, offering stylish apparel and a delightful culinary experience. Conclude the tour with a visit to the serene and iconic Gangaramaya Temple, one of the most important Buddhist temples in Colombo, renowned for its beautiful architecture, peaceful ambiance, and historical significance.
