Tour Plan

Upon arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) or Bagdogra Airport (IXB), you will be greeted by our local representative who will assist you with your transfer to Gangtok (5412 ft / 1650 mts). The scenic 4–5 hour drive (130 km) takes you through lush green valleys and winding hill roads. On reaching Gangtok, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Enjoy a relaxed evening exploring nearby areas. Overnight stay in Gangtok.

After breakfast, set out for a full-day excursion to the stunning Tshangu Lake (12,400 ft / 3,780 mts), a glacial lake known for its mesmerizing beauty. Proceed further to visit New Baba Mandir (13,100 ft / 3,994 mts), surrounded by snow-capped landscapes. After completing the excursion, return to Gangtok and spend the evening at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Note:

  • Carry 2 passport-size photos and a photocopy of a valid Photo ID (Passport / Driving License / Voter ID). Aadhaar & PAN are not accepted. Children below 18 must carry a Birth Certificate (in English) with School/College ID.
  • Travel to Tshangu Lake is subject to weather and road conditions.
  • Foreign Nationals/OCI/PIO have a different permit process—please inform in advance.

Optional:

  • Visit to Nathula Pass (14,137 ft) at an additional cost, subject to availability and open only for Indian nationals (closed on Mondays).

After breakfast, proceed for a full-day city tour covering some of Gangtok’s best attractions—Tashi View Point, Ganesh Tok, Enchey Monastery, Flower Show, Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom, Do-rul Chorten, Research Institute of Tibetology, and the scenic Banjhakri Falls. Enjoy the serene ambience of the monasteries and vibrant cultural spots. Return to your hotel and relax overnight.

Note:

  • If the Handicrafts & Handloom or Tibetology Institute is closed, alternative sightseeing to Bakthang Waterfalls & Ropeway (tickets extra) will be provided.

After breakfast, check out and drive to Darjeeling (6710 ft / 2046 mts), a beautiful hill town famous for tea gardens and colonial charm. The 4–5 hour drive offers breathtaking views of valleys and rivers. On arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.

Optional:

En-route Teesta River Rafting at Melli (extra cost).

Start early around 4:00 AM (weather permitting) and drive to Tiger Hill (8482 ft) to witness a spectacular sunrise over the majestic Mt. Kanchendzonga, the world’s third-highest peak. After returning to the hotel for breakfast, proceed for half-day sightseeing including Japanese Temple & Peace Pagoda, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Tenzing & Gombu Rocks, and a panoramic view of lush Tea Estates. In the evening, stroll around the town or relax at the hotel. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.

Note:

Tiger Hill visits depend on availability of limited vehicle coupons. If unavailable, the visit will be arranged after breakfast.

Optional:

Joy Ride on the famous Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR) at extra cost.

After breakfast, check out and transfer to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport for your onward journey. The 3–4 hour drive marks the end of your memorable Sikkim–Darjeeling holiday.

Optional:

  • Detour via Pashupati Nagar (Indo-Nepal border) for shopping & a visit to Mirik Lake (horse riding & boating available at extra cost).

Exclude

    • Govt. tax of 5% over and above the tour cost mentioned.
    • Meals Other than Breakfast.
    • Any Air, Train, Bus or Cruise fares to or from your originating place, unless specified.
    • Table drinks, VIP Passes laundry, Room heater, porter, Horse, pony, tips, camera fee, ropeway charges, entrance charges,
    • Travel insurance, personal expenses of the clients.
    • Personal costs include laundry, phone calls, tipping, mineral water, soft and hard beverages, rafting, rock climbing, paragliding, and porterage.
    • Additional sightseeing or car usage above what is specified in the schedule
    • Entrance fees of all sightseeing places to be visited from inside.
    • Any costs stemming from natural disasters such as landslides, road blockages, political disturbances (strikes), etc. (must be paid by the client, who is directly paying on the spot).
    • Anything specifically not mentioned in the ‘tour price includes’ column.
    • Any extra sightseeing, services, or activity charges other than those included in the itinerary

Terms & Conditions

  • The rates are subjects to change without any prior notice.
  • Accommodation in the itinerary at the mentioned hotels or the similar hotels.
  • The confirmation is subjects to availability and prior payment.
  • Room allocation is done by the hotel depending upon availability at the time of check-in the category of room as specified on your confirmation voucher.
  • Extra bed means Extra mattress.
  • No refund will be made for any unused accommodation, missed meals, transportation segments sightseeing tours or any other service due to Bad weather, ill health, Strike, Road blocks or any other factor beyond our Control. Such unused items are neither refundable nor exchangeable.
  • No refund shall be claimed, if the services & amenities of hotel were not up to your expectations, it will be considered on case-to-case basis Confirmation policy.
  • Token amount is nonrefundable.
  • Price quoted are subject to availability at time of confirmation, we are currently not holding any blocking against the sent quotation.
  • Tour prices are valid for Indian Nationals & Foreigners holding Indian Resident Permit.
  • Booking confirmations are subject to availability.
  • All Hotels Rooms are subject to availability.
  • We are not holding any reservations of air seats, hotel rooms, conference rooms etc. Final availability status will only be known when we request for bookings.
  • Holiday Surcharge will be additional if applicable
  • Any overstay expenses due to delay or change or cancellation in flight will be on the guests own & Exploring Holidays India will not be held liable for such expenses however we will provide best possible.
  • Any GST charged on any transaction will not be refunded.

Payment Policy

  • The Above package can be booked/ hold by paying token amount which is 30% of the total amount for booking
  • The client has to complete 80% (30+50 %) of total amount within one month from the booking date.
  • The remaining 20% should be complete before 7 days prior to date of arrival.

Cancellation Policy

  • If cancellations are made 30 days before the start date of the trip, 30 % of the Total Package Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • If cancellations are made 15-30 days before the start date of the trip, 70% of the Total Package Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • If cancellations are made within 7-10 days before the start date of the trip, 85% of the Total Package cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • 100% cancellation would be charged from the total booking amount in case of 6 days prior or last-minute booking cancellation due to flight cancellation, any natural calamity, and change in flight schedule/ferry due to technical/weather and high tides and sea conditions.
  • In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities may be cancelled and, in such cases, we will try our best to provide an alternate feasible activity. However, no refund will be provided for the same.
  • 100% in case of non-refundable flight ticket / Hotel Room.
  • Any GST charged on any transaction will not be refunded.
