Tour Plan

On arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) or Bagdogra Airport (IXB), you will be greeted by our local representative who will assist you with your transfer to Gangtok (5412 ft / 1650 mts). Enjoy a scenic 4–5 hours drive through the mountains to reach the capital city of Sikkim. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Gangtok.

After breakfast, proceed for a full-day excursion to Tshangu Lake (12,400 ft / 3780 mts), a serene glacial lake surrounded by mountains, followed by a visit to the New Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir (13,100 ft / 3994 mts). After exploring these high-altitude wonders, return to Gangtok. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Note:

  1. For Tshangu Lake & Baba Mandir permits, carry 02 passport-size photos and a photocopy of a valid Photo ID (Passport / Driving License / Voter ID). PAN Card & Aadhaar Card are not accepted. For children below 18 years, English DOB certificate + School/College ID is mandatory. Carry all originals while traveling.
  2. If Tshangu Lake becomes inaccessible due to landslides or other reasons, alternate sightseeing will be provided.
  3. Procedures for Foreigners, OCI & PIO cardholders differ—please inform in advance.

Optional:

  • Visit to Nathula Pass (14,137 ft), Indo-China border, at an additional cost. Open to Indian nationals only and closed on Mondays. Limited permits available.

After breakfast, check out and proceed for a half-day Gangtok sightseeing tour. Visit the Flower Show, Directorate of Handicraft & Handloom (closed on 2nd & 4th Saturdays, Sundays & Govt. holidays), Do-drul Chorten Stupa, Research Institute of Tibetology (closed on 2nd & 4th Saturdays, Sundays & Govt. holidays), and the scenic Banjhakri Waterfalls. Later, drive to Darjeeling (6710 ft / 2046 mts), a picturesque hill station known for its tea gardens and British-era charm. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and relax for the night. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.

Wake up early around 04:00 AM (subject to clear weather) for a visit to Tiger Hill (8482 ft) to witness a stunning sunrise over the mighty Mt. Kanchenjunga—the world’s third-highest peak. Return to the hotel for breakfast. Later, proceed for a half-day local sightseeing which includes the Japanese Temple & Peace Pagoda, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park & Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursdays & Govt. holidays), Tenzing & Gombu Rock, and a panoramic view of a Tea Estate. Return to your hotel and spend the evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.

Note:

  • Tiger Hill visit is subject to availability of coupons; only 600 vehicles are allowed in the morning. If coupons are unavailable, Tiger Hill visit will be arranged after breakfast.

Optional:

Darjeeling Himalayan Railway Joy Ride at an additional cost.

After breakfast, check out and transfer to NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport (100 km / 3–4 hrs) for your onward journey.

Optional:

Enroute detour to Pashupati Nagar (Indo-Nepal Border) for shopping, and Mirik Lake (4905 ft) where guests can enjoy boating and horse riding at their own cost.

Note:

For Pashupati Market, the vehicle will stop at the Indian border. Guests must walk to the Nepal side or hire a local taxi (approx. INR 400–500 one way). The market is 2 km from the border gate.

Exclude

    • Govt. tax of 5% over and above the tour cost mentioned.
    • Meals Other than Breakfast.
    • Any Air, Train, Bus or Cruise fares to or from your originating place, unless specified.
    • Table drinks, VIP Passes laundry, Room heater, porter, Horse, pony, tips, camera fee, ropeway charges, entrance charges,
    • Travel insurance, personal expenses of the clients.
    • Personal costs include laundry, phone calls, tipping, mineral water, soft and hard beverages, rafting, rock climbing, paragliding, and porterage.
    • Additional sightseeing or car usage above what is specified in the schedule
    • Entrance fees of all sightseeing places to be visited from inside.
    • Any costs stemming from natural disasters such as landslides, road blockages, political disturbances (strikes), etc. (must be paid by the client, who is directly paying on the spot).
    • Anything specifically not mentioned in the ‘tour price includes’ column.
    • Any extra sightseeing, services, or activity charges other than those included in the itinerary

Terms & Conditions

  • The rates are subjects to change without any prior notice.
  • Accommodation in the itinerary at the mentioned hotels or the similar hotels.
  • The confirmation is subjects to availability and prior payment.
  • Room allocation is done by the hotel depending upon availability at the time of check-in the category of room as specified on your confirmation voucher.
  • Extra bed means Extra mattress.
  • No refund will be made for any unused accommodation, missed meals, transportation segments sightseeing tours or any other service due to Bad weather, ill health, Strike, Road blocks or any other factor beyond our Control. Such unused items are neither refundable nor exchangeable.
  • No refund shall be claimed, if the services & amenities of hotel were not up to your expectations, it will be considered on case-to-case basis Confirmation policy.
  • Token amount is nonrefundable.
  • Price quoted are subject to availability at time of confirmation, we are currently not holding any blocking against the sent quotation.
  • Tour prices are valid for Indian Nationals & Foreigners holding Indian Resident Permit.
  • Booking confirmations are subject to availability.
  • All Hotels Rooms are subject to availability.
  • We are not holding any reservations of air seats, hotel rooms, conference rooms etc. Final availability status will only be known when we request for bookings.
  • Holiday Surcharge will be additional if applicable
  • Any overstay expenses due to delay or change or cancellation in flight will be on the guests own & Exploring Holidays India will not be held liable for such expenses however we will provide best possible.
  • Any GST charged on any transaction will not be refunded.

Payment Policy

  • The Above package can be booked/ hold by paying token amount which is 30% of the total amount for booking
  • The client has to complete 80% (30+50 %) of total amount within one month from the booking date.
  • The remaining 20% should be complete before 7 days prior to date of arrival.

Cancellation Policy

  • If cancellations are made 30 days before the start date of the trip, 30 % of the Total Package Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • If cancellations are made 15-30 days before the start date of the trip, 70% of the Total Package Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • If cancellations are made within 7-10 days before the start date of the trip, 85% of the Total Package cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • 100% cancellation would be charged from the total booking amount in case of 6 days prior or last-minute booking cancellation due to flight cancellation, any natural calamity, and change in flight schedule/ferry due to technical/weather and high tides and sea conditions.
  • In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities may be cancelled and, in such cases, we will try our best to provide an alternate feasible activity. However, no refund will be provided for the same.
  • 100% in case of non-refundable flight ticket / Hotel Room.
  • Any GST charged on any transaction will not be refunded.
