Welcome to Meghalaya – The Abode of Clouds
Meghalaya, nestled in the heart of Northeast India, is a paradise of misty mountains, lush green valleys, crystal-clear rivers, and living root bridges. Known for its breathtaking landscapes and vibrant tribal culture, Meghalaya offers a perfect blend of nature, adventure, and serenity. Whether you're seeking thrilling treks, cascading waterfalls, or peaceful hideaways, Meghalaya is a dream destination waiting to be explored.
Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport (GAU) or Railway Station (GHY), meet and greet followed by a scenic drive to Cherrapunjee. Overnight stay in Cherrapunjee.
Notes:
Guests must book early morning flights for same-day sightseeing.
Sightseeing is possible only for morning arrivals. Most waterfalls remain dry during winter.
After breakfast, proceed for the iconic Double Decker Living Root Bridge trek—an adventurous 3–4 hour one-way walk covering approximately 4 km with an ascent/descent of nearly 1000 ft. The trail descends through Sohsarat village with steep steps in certain stretches, followed by a forest path leading to the bridge. Steps may be slippery during monsoon due to moss growth, requiring extra caution. After spending time at the bridge, trek back to the starting point and return to the hotel. Overnight at Cherrapunjee.
Note: Rainbow Waterfall is an additional 1-hour trek from the Double Decker point—optional and based on fitness level.
Optional: Local guide/assistant is mandatory for the Double Decker trek (additional cost).
