On arrival at Leh Airport, meet our local representative who will assist with your transfer to the hotel. Take complete rest to acclimatize to the high altitude (11,000+ ft). In the afternoon, take a leisurely walk through the old town for self-orientation. In the evening, visit Shanti Stupa, built in 1991 by Japanese Buddhist Bhikshu Gyomyo Nakamura. After an early breakfast, proceed for a day excursion to Shyam Valley. Visit the Hall of Fame, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, and the fascinating Magnetic Hill, where vehicles appear to defy gravity. After breakfast, drive to Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass (18,380 ft) — the world’s highest motorable road. Stop at the pass to capture stunning panoramic views of Leh. Continue your drive down to the valley located at the confluence of Shyok and Nubra Rivers. On arrival, check in to your camp/resort and later visit Diskit Monastery — the oldest and largest in Nubra. Drive to Hunder Sand Dunes to see the unique double-humped Bactrian camels and enjoy a camel ride (optional). Overnight stay at camp in Nubra Valley.
After breakfast, drive towards Turtuk, the last Indian village before the Pakistan border and gateway to the Siachen Glacier. After breakfast, drive towards the enchanting Pangong Lake via the scenic Shyok route. Enjoy breathtaking views of snow-clad peaks en route. Located at 14,270 ft, Pangong is the world’s highest saltwater lake, famous for its shimmering blue shades that change with sunlight. Spend your evening admiring the tranquil beauty of the lake under the starlit sky. Overnight stay at camp near Pangong Lake.
After breakfast, drive back to Leh crossing the Changla Pass (17,350 ft). On arrival, check in at your hotel. In the evening, you can explore the local markets of Leh for souvenirs or simply relax at your hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Leh.
After breakfast, visit Shey Palace, the ancient capital of Ladakh, and Thiksey Monastery, a fine example of Ladakhi architecture housing beautiful stupas, Thangkas, and a large statue of Maitreya Buddha. Later, drive to Hemis Monastery, one of the largest and wealthiest monasteries in Ladakh, known for its rich collection of ancient artifacts. Continue to visit Stok Palace Museum, home to royal artifacts and family treasures. Overnight stay at hotel in Leh.
